I have been waiting so long to share this two budgets, one rustic glam look shoot from L’ Estelle Photography for so long! I love the concept of this shoot and how it shows couples they can achieve the look they have in mind with different budgets. In this rustic glam shoot you will see how using different levels of details can help you get the look you want in your budget. Honestly both versions of these shoots are gorgeous so it definitely proves how you can have the wedding of your dreams on your budget.
One of the reasons L’Estelle Photography decided to create a shoot like this because they realized sites like Pinterest can be both a brides best friend and her worst enemy. We all know that Pinterest is full of amazing styled shoots and stunning real weddings that are able to have high end budgets. So, when a couple takes these photos in for inspiration, it can feel overwhelming at the cost and even discouraging.
L’Estelle Photography shares…The team of vendors for this styled shoot wanted to try and help with this by doing two looks that had similar feels in regards to decor but that had a difference in overall cost. Look One is a more budget friendly version in which the florist used less expensive greenery and in a way that kept labor hours very limited as well. We used cupcakes in this look rather than a fully decorated wedding cake as in the next look. Look Two is the higher end look in which we used more linens to add texture and fullness as well as taking it up a notch with both the decor (including using gold cutlery) and florals used.
Look One – Budget Friendly
In this look you are going to see a color scheme of white, grey and gold. The model is wearing a Pronovias gown from the 2017 collection. The dress a gorgeous empire line mermaid style with a bateau neckline. It has the perfect combination of crepe, tulle and lace floral motifs. Then to accessorize they picked all the jewelry from a store called The Borrowed Collection. This company is based in Vancouver and offers bridal jewelry & accessories for rent. Rentals can range anywhere from $90-$1750. How awesome is that?
Let’s talk about the florals for look one now. The bouquet includes a budget-friendly base of hydrangeas and standard roses. Using these types of flowers help provide a lot of bulk at a lower price. If you are looking to create a larger bouquet at a lower end price, use hydrangeas. For the garland they used a less intensive method, they laid long stems of Italian ruscus on the table and inserted cut flowers into the greens. By creating your garland this way, you don’t have to worry about using twine and tying everything together. Also by using only one type of greenery helps save money too, layering greenery for texture can get very costly. Then to add some height they used candles instead of larger centerpieces.
Table Garland with Flower Inserts: $75 per table ($35 without flowers)
Lantern: $35 (Flowers only)
TOTAL COST: $250
One of my favorite parts to a wedding is the sweets! So, for look one to keep costs low they decided to use a cupcake tower. The best thing about using cupcakes is you can choose the designs to be simpler or more elaborate depending on your budget . Also you can create a gorgeous dessert table with cupcakes.
Mini Cupcakes: $24-$30 per dozen
Regular Cupcakes: $48-$55 per dozen
Look Two – High End
For look number two they used another dress from the Pronovias 2017 Collection. This dress is an elegant tulle mermaid style with embroidery, georgette, gemstones, an open V back, floral details and a sweep train. The Borrowed Collection was used for Jewelry, like the first look. And again for this look they used the same white, grey and gold color scheme.
The Borrowed Collection
The florals for this high end look are definitely a little more lush and has more of a mix of flowers. Like the bridal bouquet for look two uses a mix of some higher end flowers and greens, such as Garden roses, ranunculus, anemones, orchids, and dusty miller. Using these types of flowers will push the price up quite a bit, well past the $200 price range. Unlike the table garland in the first look, this look uses a more labor intensive method of tying smaller bunches of greenery to a piece of twine. They also used more lush greenery and different types to give a more layered effect. The extra draping and pooling definitely adds to the cost. The centerpieces for this look were made up of all the same high end flowers used in the bouquet to make a nice statement. A couple of other pretty touches they added to this look was the 3 floral hanging hoops and greenery on the chairs.
Bridal Bouquet: $225+
Table Garland: $144 per table
Large Centerpiece: $185
Hanging Hoops: $65 (for all three)
Chair Greenery: $5 ($2.50 per chair)
TOTAL COST: $624
Instead of using cupcakes like they did in the first look, they chose to go with a custom handmade cake. This cake has 3 tiers; 6 inch, 8 inch and 10 inch. A cake of this size can usually feed about 80 people. Pricing is always going to vary with a cake because of a few factors; amount needed, size, servings and how you want it decorated. I think the touches of gold on this cake really give it an elegant look.
Average cost of this cake is approximately $1000-$1200
Some other decor and details included in these looks are the stationary and laser cut signs. For the stationay, the place cards start at $1, based on black ink on white cardstock with a $0.25 increase per change. The place cards for this shoot would be priced at $1.50. For the Mr. and Mrs. laser cut signs the price will depend on size. The ones used in this shoot start at $25 each. To find pricing details you can check out Rintzylee.
