This is such a great question and I am so glad to be able to give some insight into it. The answer to this question is actually quite simple. Yes, of course you will want to feed your vendors. Keep on reading to find out why.
When it comes to feeding your vendors there are a few reasons why I think it is a good idea. First you would never want to work an 8 to 12 hour day with out any breaks or meals, right? So, you can’t expect the vendors to do that.
Lets talk about who to feed. If you have a vendor who is just there for short period of time, you don’t have to feed them. For example if your baker is dropping of your cake and is there for an hour you wouldn’t need to worry about feeding them. But for your all day vendors such as photographers, videographer, DJ and wedding planner/coordinator, those you will want to feed.
There are some perks to feeding your vendors. They don’t have to leave to go get food so they won’t be missing anything. For example you wouldn’t want your wedding planner to leave in case something goes wrong and you need her/him to take care of it.
Another question you may have is what to feed the wedding vendors? This of course is totally up to you but I think what is easiest is feeding them the same as your guests. I feel this way for a couple of reasons. Reason 1 being it makes things way easier to keep track of with your caterer. You only need to add a few extra plates rather then whole new menu items. Reason 2 it can give your photographer a good chance to get some really nice reception food shots. I know pictures of the food isn’t extremely important but it is still nice to have pictures of all your wedding details.
When should your wedding vendors have their meal? The easiest answer to this question is, when everyone else is eating. Once everyone is seated and enjoying their meal not to much generally goes on for them to be capturing or worrying about.
