Getting those wedding plans rolling can sometimes make you feel a little lost or even disorganized. It can be hard to decide what you have to get done right away and what you have to budget for, there’s just so much that goes into a wedding. So, today’s wedding tip is a really simple but extremely useful one.
One of the first things I would suggest to do after you have talked and set a budget is create a list of wedding needs and wants. This is going to help you allot money in your budget to the most important parts of your wedding. For example your needs would be along the lines of : venue, caterer, photographer, ceremony space/officiant, attire, etc. Once you have settled on your needs you can then start budgeting for them and start pulling the basics of you wedding day together.
Wedding day wants are things you don’t have to have to complete your wedding but rather wish to have to make it more fun, pretty or exciting. Some wedding day wants might include: photobooth, candy buffet, lavish favors, special entertainment, etc. When you have completed your wants list, go through and start prioritizing those items. Once they are prioritized you can have a better financial understanding of what may or may not fit into your budget.
We all have dreams of what we want our wedding day to look like or what it will entail. Since everyone has such different tastes and priorities these lists will not be the same for everyone. But, by creating these two lists it can help get you to see what is important and to keep focus on.
