Amy and Jim’s modern mint and grey Red Deer Wedding is so pretty. First off you can tell how much these two love each other and secondly you can see how much thought and care they put into their day. Twitchy Finger Photography was there to capture all of it. One of my favorite details from Amy and Jim’s wedding is their florals by Calyx Floral Design. Amy’s bouquet is so stunning, make sure to take a peek of it down below. If you are planning a wedding in Red Deer make sure to check out the vendor list at the bottom of the post for some awesome vendors to help make your day more spectacular!
Twitchy Finger Photography shares…“Jim and Amy first met at World Gym Red Deer. Both were avid gym goers, 5 to 6 days a week, so naturally their faces became familiar to one another. Jim says he would catch Amy’s eyes watching him quite frequently, whereas Amy says it was the other way around. Jim would ‘forget’ to bring a water bottle so he would have to walk by her to get to the water fountain several times a night (although he still denies it). One evening, Jim asked Amy (in the relatively empty gym) if he could cut in and use the equipment she was using. They worked in with each other on the same equipment but continued on their own workouts. Later in the evening, Jim and Amy find themselves in the same area of the gym again, where they talk more about their motivation to work out. For Jim, it was bodybuilding (Jim actually flexed his muscles here). For Amy, it was to stay in shape, to de-stress, and well, possibly meet a guy like Jim (the latter she did not say of course 😉 ). At the end of the evening, before leaving the gym, Amy had changed into her big, comfy, grey sweatpants and was on her way out, where Jim decided to ask for her number. Any guy who likes a girl in baggy, grey sweats is genuine. Not long after, Jim and Amy went on a few dates, and Jim became known as “Jim from the gym”. 18 months later, they bought a home, receiving their first little dog Lexy as a housewarming gift. 3 years later, Lexy gained a new little brother Spooky, and they were now a family of 4.”
Favorite Memories From The Wedding
For Amy: Everything about our wedding day was exactly as I had hoped. We celebrated the best day of our lives with many friends and family. As much as I love every one of them with all my heart and being surrounded by them during our beautiful ceremony, my favourite moment of our wedding day was our first moment alone together, on the bridge, as the new Mr. and Mrs. Ambrus. Even though it was a dreary, grey afternoon, and the wind was blowing in every direction (so much that my veil was even blown out by the wind!), the moment was magical. It was just the two of us and nothing else mattered. The day I had been waiting over 7 years for had finally come and everything was perfect.
For Jim: People everyday wake up saying they are going to change their lives, and never do it. Well, on September 10, 2016, I changed my life. I got married to the most beautiful, goofy and smartest person I have the privilege of knowing. My favorite part of that day, was the anticipation. Waiting outside, standing there with my 4 best men, waiting to finally see what 7 and a half years of being together comes down to. And when Amy came out in her dress, looking more beautiful then I have ever seen her before, I knew this was going to be the best day of my life.
Amy + Jim’s Wedding Day Theme & Details
Amy: Our wedding didn’t have an exact theme, but our colors were mint and grey. Jim had no idea why I also wanted a bit of pink or peach in the wedding, but the secret of my champagne coloured dress was to be revealed on our wedding day. Jim had a bit of a theme in mind for me and his groomsmen, however. Jim’s lives, sleeps, and breathes football and loves taking friends and family to football games all season long. As much as we support each other in life, we cheer for opposite teams in football. My favourite and home team is the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Jim’s favourite team is the Edmonton Eskimos. Many of Jim’s groomsmen cheer for opposing teams as well, so the gifts we all received were our favourite CFL team jersey with our last names and the #16 for the year we were married.
Congratulations to Amy and Jim!!!
