This rustic charmed Edmonton wedding is full of pretty pastels, beautiful florals and stunning details. Sounds dreamy, right? And it’s all captured by the talented Photo Junkies.
Kyle and Laura’s outdoor ceremony was decorated perfectly for their rustic theme. They had a beautiful rustic wood arch adorned with beautiful flowers created by Tickled Floral. Two vintage wine barrels topped with flowers, lined the start of the aisle and buckets filled with baby’s breath lined the aisle the rest of the way. The reception space was no different lots of florals and pretty rustic details filled the reception.
Laura and Kyle are such a sweet and cute couple. Wait until you read Kyle’s proposal story!
Kelty from Photo Junkies shares…“The day started off at Blush Makeup Artistry where the girls were in the process of having their hair and makeup done. The morning was full of jokes, laughter, and of course pre-wedding excitement. After they were all done up, we headed off to Laura’s parents house in Sherwood Park where we would eventually meet up with the guys.
After a quick snack, Laura slipped into her wedding dress – and things got real! She was about to stand face-to-face with her husband-to-be in less than 5 minutes!
Laura and Kyle opted to do a first look as they wanted their ceremony and reception as close together time-wise as possible. They wanted to have as much time as possible with their guests, while still ensuring they had tons of time for photos. Having a first look is a great way to accomplish this. We set the Kyle up under an apple tree in Laura’s parents backyard and let the rest happen naturally.
After their romantic and intimate first look, off we went to a good friend of ours’ property to do something a little more rustic. Kyle & Laura’s style was very natural – full of wood grains and greens and we knew it would be a perfect match. After a lot of laughing and goofing around, we headed back to the Edmonton Scottish Society to witness them tie the knot, hear some heartwarming speeches, eat some amazing food, capture (and participate in) some hilarious dancing, and of course, venture outside for our signature sunset shots.”
Proposal story from the Groom, Kyle: Back in the spring of 2015 I met with a good friend of mine for lunch. There was a specific purpose of this meeting and my friend had a specific set of skills, diamonds.
But let’s take it back a step; I’ve grown to love my fiancé, Laura, very much over the years and knew that this is the woman I want to spend my life with. She’s my partner and friend, has the kindest heart, and is one of the most genuine people I’ve ever met – I’m lucky to have her!
At lunch that day I asked my friend if he could help find the perfect diamond and perfect ring, he accepted and I was on the journey to propose! In only a few weeks we had the most perfect engagement ring made and ready for the love of my life.
Next I needed to decide when to propose. We had planned a trip to Mexico for July 2015 and I thought that was a good time to do it. I spoke to my parents and closest friends to let them know my plans and asked for permission from Laura’s parents, Bill and Sue, shortly before going. We were both excited for the trip but I couldn’t wait to propose!
While in Mexico I made arrangements with the resort photographer to have photos taken of us one evening on the beach. I planned with the photographer to have him ask “is there any more photo’s you would like?” and that would be my cue to pop the question. After taking a number of photos and getting my cue I dropped down on one knee and asked Laura to marry me.
Her reaction will be one of my greatest memories; she was so genuinely happy and I just want to make her feel that way for the rest of my life.
Congratulations to Kyle and Laura on their fabulous wedding!
