We are in love with the new trend of Mr. and Mrs. signs. Whether you use them as a photo prop, head table decor or hang them off of the back of the bride and groom’s chair, these awesome signs are a great idea. This tutorial is super easy and inexpensive which is so great because on Etsy these signs can start costing you $40.00 and up. This D.I.Y. tutorial is also good for making any other type of wedding signage.
Step One: Gather your supplies.
-Wood ( We used old boards from a pallet but you can use what ever size or kind you want )
-Paint or Stain
-Font or Image
-Pencil or Pen
Step Two: Measure out and mark your wood to be the size you would like.
Step Three: Cut the wood that you have measured out.
Step Four: Sand your wood down so it is smooth for painting or staining.
Step Five: Paint or Stain your wood to the color of your liking. If you prefer a more rustic or natural look feel free to skip this step.
Step Six: Grab your graphite paper and line it up on your piece of wood. Then place your image of font on top of the graphite paper. Make sure you place your image or font precisely where you want it to be. Once you have your image or font centered or placed where you like, start tracing with a pen.
Step Seven: After you have traced you image or font, pick your paint color and start painting over the traced image.
Step Eight: Once you have finished painting let it dry. Then if you want to add ribbon to the back for hanging feel free to do so.
Since we used wood from pallets it made this project super budget friendly. We would love to see your wedding D.I.Y. projects in the comments below!
